Rules & Regulations : Play

The rules of the game of golf shall be those currently adopted by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews (R&A), United States Golf Association (USGA) and Malaysian Golf Association (MGA) regulatory body. Local rules shall be printed on the scorecard and changes shall be posted on the golf notice board from time to time.

General Club Rules

Play

  • SAFETY should be put above all be it in stroke or practice swing, ensuring players in front are safely out of range, always alert ground workers/staffs before making strokes with the traditional word of warning “FORE!” or “BALL!”
  • NO DISTURBANCE OR DISTRACTION in the course of play by moving, talking or making unnecessary noise and etc.
  • PLAY AT A GOOD PACE AND KEEP UP AND BE READY TO PLAY especially in the weekend or whenever there are large numbers of flights in either course.
  • CARE OF THE COURSE by raking bunkers, repair of divots, repair ball marks on the green damaged by shoes and preventing unnecessary damage to the tee box, fairways and especially in the green by way of taking practice swing, hitting head of the club to the ground and etc.
  • FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS BY MARSHAL at all times AND LOCAL NOTICES regulating the movement of golf buggies in the club house area and in the golf course.
  • VISITORS FROM CLUBS WITH RECIPROCAL ARRANGEMENTS AND DULY AUTHORIZED NON-MEMBERS OR GUESTS whilst in the Club House and in the Golf Course must each display high standards of conduct, respect, sportsmanship, be considerate for other players on the golf course at all times and strictly to follow golf etiquette.

The Spirit of the Game

Golf is played, for the most part, without the supervision of a referee or umpire. The game relies on the integrity of the individual to show consideration for other players and to abide by the Rules. All players should conduct themselves in a disciplined manner, demonstrating courtesy and sportsmanship at all times, irrespective of how competitive they may be. General Club Rules

Administrative

 

  • MEMBERS MUST PRODUCE their membership cards to the golf reception upon registration.
  • VISITORS FROM CLUBS WITH RECIPROCAL ARRANGEMENTS must produce their membership card and introduction letter by the respective club upon registration.
  • MEMBERS AND GUESTS ARE REQUIRED to purchase golf insurance coverage against third party liability, personal injury, damage and / or loss of personal effects.
  • GOLFERS WITHOUT A VALID HANDICAP or whose handicap is above 24 (Men) and 36 (Ladies) shall not be allowed to play unless with the express permission from the Golf Manager / Golf Operations Management.
  • NON GOLFERS AND / OR FOLLOWERS ARE NOT ALLOWED in the golf course at all times.
  • PROPER DRESS CODE is expected from all golfers before commencement of play. Starters / Marshals have the right to refuse entry to golfers who dresses inappropriately.
  • SHARING OF GOLF CLUBS though is not prohibited, it is not encouraged. Golfers should have own golf clubs before entering the golf course.
  • BUGGIES ARE NOT ALLOWED at the DRIVING RANGE, hotel lobby and car park area surrounding the resort.
  • PHOTOGRAPHING / VIDEO RECORDINGS is not allowed in the golf course at all times unless with the express permission from the Management.

The Management may, at its absolute discretion, delegate any of its powers relating to the use of the Golf Courses to such person(s) or committee(s), as the Management shall deem fit.

Essential Information

Handicap & PC Requirements

 

Golfers playing at Pulai Springs Resort are required to hold a valid PC or handicap card. It is the member’s responsibility to ensure that their guest produce their valid credentials.

Golf Course Operating Tee-Off Time
Morning 1st & 10th tee 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
Afternoon 1st & 10th tee 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Evening 1st& 10th tee 4:35 p.m. – 5:45 p.m.

The course will be closed for maintenance on the following days:
Mon : Pulai Course 1st nine
Tue : Pulai Course 2nd nine
Wed : Melana Course 1st nine
Thu : Melana Course 2nd nine

Buggies

Buggies are compulsory for all golfers and must remain on the designated buggy paths situated along the course (except Pulai Course). Any damage caused during play and will be charged to the golfer’s account.

Spectators/Followers

Non-golfers or followers are not permitted to accompany playing golfers onto the course at all time.

Golf Attire/Dress Regulations

All golfers shall be suitably attired when playing on the Club’s courses. The official of the club are empowered to stop any player from playing if he/she is not properly attired.
Appropriate attire for;
Men : Golf shoes (soft spikes only), socks, tailored long pants/ Bermuda shorts, Turtle-neck/ T-shirts with collar
Ladies : Golf shoes (soft spikes only), socks, tailored shorts, long pants/skirts and blouse or Turtle-Neck, T-shirts with collar
